I’ve got some news that might be perfect for you or someone you know if you’re into research or lab work! Utkal University’s P.G. Department of Biotechnology has just announced some fantastic positions under a collaborative research project. This project is investigating some seriously cool science—looking at how an anti-thyroid drug might cause changes that could be linked to Alzheimer’s disease! And guess what? They’re hiring a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and an Animal cum Laboratory Attendant temporarily. Let me break it down for you.
The Details of the Walk-in-Interview
Mark your calendar! The interview is on 26th September 2024 (Thursday) at 11:00 AM at Utkal University in Bhubaneswar. You’ll need to be there an hour early with all your important documents for verification.
This isn’t your regular 9-to-5 job. It’s under a three-year research project funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of Odisha. The project focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of how the anti-thyroid drug, propylthiouracil, causes redox imbalance and epigenetic changes, potentially leading to Alzheimer’s disease. It’s cutting-edge stuff!
Available Vacancy:
For the Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
- It would help if you had an M.Sc. in Biotechnology or Life Sciences (or any related field) with at least 55% marks.
- If you’ve got some relevant work experience, that’s a bonus!
- Remember, you’ll need to send your CV, certificates, and an academic reference letter to Od.biotech@utkaluniversity.ac.in before 5:00 PM on 24th September 2024.
For the Animal cum Laboratory Attendant:
- You must have passed Class 10th from a recognized school or institute.
Salary:
This project may be temporary, but the perks are pretty decent!
- The JRF position pays ₹17,000/month for the first two years, and that goes up to ₹19,000/month in the third year.
- The Animal cum Laboratory Attendant will receive a fixed salary of ₹8,000/month.
Important Things to Keep in Mind
- The initial tenure is one year, but it could be extended depending on how well you do!
- Make sure to bring all your original documents and self-attested copies when you come to the interview.
- Oh, and there’s no TA/DA provided for the interview, so plan accordingly.
